摘要

《白老虎》是印度作家阿拉文德·阿迪加的小说处女作，于2008年获得了的英国布克奖。《白老虎》是他第一部长篇小说，小说主要以写给中国温家宝总理的七封信件的形式讲述了主人公巴尔拉姆，从一个印度贫苦下层穷人奋斗成为一名成功的企业家的故事。《白老虎》描写了在印度经济大发展的背后一些鲜为人知的社会现象。阿迪加并没有大肆渲染印度的大发展，而是以客观的态度幽默的口吻去揭露当今印度的真实情况，这对了解研究印度真实社会现象就有深刻意义和作用。本文将从后殖民角度分析小说《白老虎》，分别研究了主人公巴尔拉姆的印度梦的奋斗史，以及从中体现的道德良知。

Abstract

The White Tiger is an Indian author Aravind Adiga’s first novel, which won Booker Prize in 2008. The White Tiger which is his first saga novel, describes a story about that a poor Indian young man Balram from the lowest level in India finally becomes a successful businessman via his constant struggling by means of writing seven letters to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. It also describes the other Indian social phenomenon behind the successful economic development which is unknown by people. Adiga discloses the present real India with objective attitude in a humorous tone, instead of going wield with the development of India; which is very meaningful and functional for us to study and explore the real society of India. This paper aims to study the hero Balram’s struggling of Indian dreams and his conscience in the perspective of post-colonialism.
