摘  要

美国作家埃德加٠爱伦坡对于美国文坛最大的影响就在于他哥特小说的创作。哥特式写作风格是一种以恐怖和死亡为中心内容的写作体裁，本文以短篇小说《黑猫》和《红死魔的假面舞会》为例，用文献分析法和文本分析法，从环境、意象、时间、主题、颜色、变态主人公选择等方面探讨爱伦坡的哥特式写作风格的表现方式，揭示这一写作风格如何体现哥特小说的独特魅力。同时通过作家的观点、经历方面分析爱伦坡哥特小说的形成，这有助于了解西方的人和社会，也有助于解读哥特主题，使读者更好地欣赏哥特文学。

Abstract

The famous writer Edgar Allan Poe’s creation of gothic stories made him the most influential and outstanding writer in the American literary world. Horror and death are the main topics of gothic stories. This paper taking the Masque of the Red Death and the Black Cat as examples, analyzes the topics of gothic writing style from several aspects: scenes, time, images, colors, and abnormal heroes, through literature analysis and text analysis. With the introduction of Poe’s unique theory of literature and his life experience, we can have a more comprehensive knowledge of gothic writing style. Analyzing gothic writing style has a significant sense in helping the readers get a better understanding of gothic literature.
