摘要

   作为美国文学史上的大师，海明威冰山原理影响了很多人，并以此文明于世。通过分析海明威作品中的艺术特点，我们能了解更多海明威的独特的写作风格。《白象似的群山》是海明威其中一部著名的短篇小说，不到1400个单词组成的文章却传达了一个意义深远的故事。海明威生动的人物刻画和细腻的文章组织体现了他精湛的写作技巧。通过分析文本，本论文旨在挖掘《白象似的群山》中的艺术特点，如省略、零度结尾、电报式语言、象征等等。

Abstract

As a master in American literature history, Hemingway is famous for his “iceberg principle” all around the world which has influenced a lot of people. By analyzing the artistic characteristics of his work, readers can know more about Hemingway’s unique writing style. Hills Like White Elephants is one of Hemingway's famous short novels. The whole text is less than 1400 words but he tells a meaningful story to us. His vivid portrayal of characters and ingenious organization of text show his exquisite writing skills. This paper aims at figuring out the artistic characteristics in Hills Like White Elephants, such as omission, zero ending, telegraphic speech, symbolism, and so on by analyzing the text.
