摘要

《野性的呼唤》主要讲述的是，巴克作为一条狗，随着环境的变化，从原先拥有的人性慢慢转变成野性。人性与野性的冲突是这本小说的主线。本文基于环境决定论的观点，论述巴克是如何从人性到野性的复苏。并结合杰克·伦敦同类主题的小说，论述小说中人物的个性是如何随着环境的变化而变化的。为了更好的理解这个故事，此文会把人性与野性的冲突放置进人类社会中去进行阐述。

Abstract

The Call of the Wild is a story about a dog called Buck, who turns its humanity to ferity with the change of environment. The conflict between humanity and ferity is main thread in this novel. Based on the Environmental determinism, this paper discusses how Buck recovered its ferity from humanity, and expounds how characters change their habits with the environment. In the end, the conflict of humanity and ferity in the civilized society is also discussed so as to get a better understanding of the story.
