摘要

本论文通过分析简·奥斯汀的《傲慢与偏见》中的五桩婚姻来研究她的婚姻观,并以女权运动的理论家西蒙娜·德·波伏娃的女权主义理论作为理论基础。《傲慢与偏见》一定程度上体现了作者早年的情感生活经历，所以从本部作品入手研究简·奥斯汀的婚姻观有着重大的意义。在小说中，简·奥斯汀认为：“为了财产、金钱和地位而结婚是错误的，而结婚不考虑上述因素也是愚蠢的”。所以，既拥有爱情又拥有金钱的婚姻是幸福的；只看重金钱、美貌或情欲而忽视爱情的婚姻是不幸的。此部小说中的五对人物的婚后生活证实了“爱情与金钱在建立幸福美满的婚姻中同等重要”这一理论。

Abstract

This thesis aims to study Jane Austen’s view of marriage by analyzing five kinds of marriages in Pride and Prejudice based on Simone de Beauvoir’s theory of feminism. To some extent, the novel reflects the author’s emotional life and experience in early years, so analyzing Jane Austen’s marriage attitude in Pride and Prejudice is of great significance. The author holds the view that people should take property, money and status into consideration in a marriage, but should not get married just for these three factors. Therefore, the marriage which possesses love and money at the same time is happy; the marriage which only cares about money, beauty, or lust and ignores love is unhappy. The married life of five couples in the novel confirmed that love and money are equally important in building a happy marriage.
