摘要

《麦田里的守望者》是公认的当代成长小说经典之一，当中揭露了青少年在青春期阶段的困惑与迷茫以及寻求自我的一个过程。主人公霍尔顿在他的成长历程中经历的许多事情让他对这个世界充满了失望，尽管如此，他的内心世界依然是怀有希望的，他总是保持纯真，追寻着自己内心的追求。本文分析霍尔顿成长历程中所产生的失望以及内心对这个世界的希望来揭示小说的成长主题，希望对现代青少年的成长能起到一定的积极作用。

Abstract

The novel The Catcher in the Rye is one of the well-known classic initiation novels, which reveals the confusions teenager faces and the process how they pursue themselves. The main character Holden was disappointed with this world after experiencing many things, however, he was still full of hope in his inner world. This paper tries to reveal the initiation theme of the novel by exploring Holden’s disappointments and hopes, with the aim to draw more attention to the growth of the contemporary youth.
