摘要

 《傲慢与偏见》是简奥斯丁的一部描写婚姻和爱情的巨作。时至今日，这部作品在广大读者中仍然大受欢迎。婚姻和爱情是这部作品的主题。作者通过这四段不同的婚姻向读者阐述了她个人对于婚姻和爱情的见解：婚姻虽然和财富、社会地位紧密相连，但是婚姻并不能完全取决于财富和社会地位。作者虽然不赞成婚姻应该建立在财富和社会地位的基础上，但是她也反对仓促草率的婚姻。一段真正美满的婚姻应该是建立在夫妻双方相爱、互相尊重、互相理解、财富以及其他不同条件的基础上的。她认为男女双方之间的感觉应该是一段完美婚姻的基石。

Abstract

Pride and Prejudice is Jane Austen’s masterpiece which describes four different marriages and love. Nowadays, the novel is still very popular with different kinds of readers. Marriage and love is the central theme in this novel. Through this four different marriages and love, the writer aims to tell us her opinions about marriage and love: love and marriage are closely associated with wealth and social status, but love and marriage should not completely depend on wealth and social status. Jane Austen is not in favor of marriages based on wealth or social status, and is opposed to the cursory marriage. An ideal marriage should be based on love, mutual respect, common understanding and wealth, etc. She regards the feelings and love between men and women as the cornerstone of a perfect marriage.
