摘 要

简.爱是夏洛特.勃朗特的作品《简.爱》中的女主人公，林黛玉是中国四大名著之一《红楼梦》的女主人公。他们是世界文学史上独具特色的不朽形象，她们的处境有一定的相似之处,但命运却截然不同。本文从女权主义文学批评的立场出发，通过对简爱与林黛玉的个人生活历程的回顾，探讨简爱与林黛玉女性意识这一主题。简爱追求自由、快乐和生存, 力图挣脱传统的束缚, 开创自己的事业，努力实现自身价值。对于林黛玉，传统文化对她仍有深厚的影响, 她常常不自觉地坚守着传统价值观念。因此，本论文将采用比较文学的手法对简•爱和林黛玉这西中方两个人物形象进行比较，从女性主义对她们俩各自的不同的命运加以研究，以发现造成她们不同命运的深层次原因。

Abstract

Jane Eyre,an occidental character and the heroine in Charlotte Bronte’s masterpiece Jane Eyre, and Lin Daiyu, an oriental character and at the same time the main female character in one of the four Chinese classical novel scalled A Dream in Red Mansions.They are the immortal images of the word literary history. Their situations have certain similarities, but they have different fates This thesis aims to discuss the female consciousness of Jane Eyre and Lin Daiyu, by reviewing the whole course of their personal lives and analyzing their life experiences, flnancial and spiritual conditions and personalities. About Jane Eyre ,she instinctively pursued freedom, happiness and survival and strived to shake off the bondage of tradition to become a teacher,and to make great effects so as to achieve her own value. But about Lin Daiyu,the traditional culture still has a profound influence on her, thus she usually unconsciously sticks to the traditional concept of value.Therefore, this paper takes a comparative approach to the two characters, in order to find out the underlying reasons for their different personalities and fates from the perspective of feminism.
