摘要

本文从人物心理分析入手，通过对斯嘉丽个人生活经历的回顾，探讨斯嘉丽的女性意识这一主题。文中运用弗洛伊德的人格理论，运用超我和本我两者间的相互制约和冲突来探索斯嘉丽复杂矛盾的女性意识。通过分析显而易见，斯佳丽的内心时常处于“超我”和“本我”的猛烈冲突中。首先她本能地追求生存、自由和欢乐，试图摆脱传统道德施加的诸多管束，艰苦创业争取经济独立，努力实现自我价值。其次，内心深处潜藏的“超我”也时常监管着她的一举一动，传统道德文化对她仍有很大的影响力，她常常自发地严守着传统价值观。从整篇小说可以看出在历经坎坷的斯佳丽身上，“本我”在多数情况下都战胜“超我”对她的约束而起主导作用。因而无论是她为谋求生存的艰苦奋斗，对传统观念的挑衅，还是对真爱的不懈坚持，根源都在于她内心底层本能的支配。

Abstract

This thesis aims to discuss the female consciousness of Scarlett, by reviewing the whole course of her personal life and analyzing her psychology. By applying the personality theory of Freud, this thesis also analyzes the complex and contradictory female consciousness of heroine through conflicts and constraints between two personalities of id and superego. Through these analyses, it is not difficult to find out that Scarlett has always been in the intense conflicts of “id” and “superego”. For one thing, she instinctively pursued freedom, happiness and survival and strived to shake off the bondage of tradition to start her own business and to make great effects so as to achieve her own value. For another, however, the hidden “superego” regulates her behaviors all the times and the traditional culture still has a profound influence on her, thus Scarlett usually unconsciously sticks to the traditional concept of value. Throughout the whole novel, for the passionate Scarlett, “id” has overwhelmed her “superego” in most cases to restrain her and control her words and deeds. Therefore, no matter for challenging traditional concepts, tenaciously pursuing the ideal love, or struggling for survival, Scarlett was driven by the instinct in the depth of her heart.
