摘要

威廉•福克纳是美国20世纪著名作家。《献给艾米丽的玫瑰花》便是他的代表作之一。在这篇小说中，福克纳打破了故事原有的叙事模式，向我们展示了一个颠倒无序的时间状态。因此为了更好地理解主人公艾米丽的悲剧命运，本文将从小说独特的叙事手法入手分析：一是从叙事视角进行探索，由不同人物的眼中来观察整个故事的进行，探索作者是如何使人物更加丰满的；二是从错置的叙事时间入手，还原整篇小说正常的叙事时间，使情节更为简明易懂。这些巧妙的叙事手法的运用增加了小说的惊奇与悬念，使整个故事笼罩在哥特式氛围之中，出乎意料却又在情理之中。福克纳对于写作手法的巧妙应用，为文学创作提供了更多新思想，使这些作品更加生动。

Abstract

William Cuthbert Faulkner is one of the most famous writer in the 20th century’s America. A Rose for Emily is a representative short story of his work. Faulkner broke the traditional narrative mode of the story, which shows the whole story in an inverted time. So in order to understand the tragedy of Emily, this paper begins with the narrative features to analyze the special narrative mode. First, the paper focuses on the narrative perspective of different people to explore how the author could build a rich character. And then paper analyzes the inverted narrative time to restore the normal narrative time. These narrative mode reveals its surprise and suspense and cover the whole story in a Gothic atmosphere. Faulkner developed the story in an unexpected way, but it seems all of these are also expected. He makes cunning use of writing techniques, and provides something new for the literary creation, which makes these work more vivid.
