摘要

圣经是西方文化，尤其是英美文化的经典的源头，是典故的宝库，西方习语的最大来源，深深的影响了西方的思想和文化。英语语言的核心和本质是英语习语，要想学好英语，理解英语习语的起源及其文化内涵是非常重要的。圣经中的习语种类繁多，生动感人，充满哲理。它们在英语的发展中扮演了一个至关重要的作用，目前已经成为现代英语的一部分。

英语中的许多和动物有关的习语都来源于圣经，它们反映了基督教文化的内涵，不仅在基督教文化的传播过程中起到了重要作用，也为学习和理解英语社会文化提供了重要途径。英语习语大多含有深刻的意义，也反映了相应的社会文化。本文将着重介绍圣经中的动物成语以及所反应的了文化内涵。目的在于帮助英语学者了解西方文化的源头，更好地掌握英语语言的精华，而且阅读圣经习语的相关文化，不仅可以帮助我们了解英美文化，也能促进我们的英语学习。

Abstract

Bible is the origin and classic of Anglo-American culture, it is the largest source of allusions and Western idioms. It has a profound impact on Western thoughts and culture. English idioms is the core and essence of the English language, it is essential to understand the origin and cultural connotations of English idioms. The kinds of idioms in the Bible are various, the idioms are vivid and philosophical. They played an important role in the development of English, and now has become a part of modern English.

Many English idioms about animals come from the Bible, it not only plays an important role in spreading the culture of Christian, but also provides an important way to learn and understand the English society culture. Most English idioms contain profound meanings which reflects the corresponding social culture. This paper will describe the animal idioms in the “Bible” and their reflection of culture, it aims to help English learners to expand their knowledge and the understanding of the root of Western culture to better grasp the essence of the English language. For the English learners, read the Bible cultural idioms, not only can help us understand the Anglo-American culture, but also contribute to learning English.
