Translation and Influence of English loanwords in Chinese Since the Reform and Open-up Policy

摘要

改革开放以来，中国不断打开对外开放的大门，与西方国家在贸易和文化方面都有了更进一步的交流。与此同时，人们生活中也出现了更多的媒体和信息渠道，而语言作为人类最重要的交流工具，日益突显出其重要的作用，其中外来词更是彰显出了语言与众不同的魅力。目前，我国对英文外来词的研究已经有了一个新高度，现代探究英文外来词的专家们吸取前人的经验与教训，在原有的基础上不断解决在英文外来词翻译时常遇到的疑难问题，科学地归纳了几种翻译技巧。本文将从探究英文外来词的翻译方式入手，分析英语外来词自改革开放以来的发展对中国语言文化所产生的影响，并简要分析和预测了新形势下英文外来词的发展前景。

Abstract

Since the reform and open-up policy in 1978, China has increasingly opened the market to the outside world and also has deeper contacts on trade and cultural exchanges. Meanwhile, more and more media and information channels have been appeared in people’s daily life, language as the most important tools for human communication highlights its important role gradually, especially English loanwords shows the unique charm of language. At present, the study of English loanwords has reached a new heights. Experts who engage in exploring English loanwords, constantly learns from predecessors’failures and experience to solve difficult problems in translation. They scientifically summarize several translation skills of the English loanwords. This article starts with the exploring the translation skills of English loanwords, analyzes the development of the English loanwords in influencing the Chinese language and culture since 1978, and give a brief analysis and prediction to the new trend of the English loanwords.
