《人民日报》标题的认知转喻分析_英语论文
The Metonymy-oriented Study on the Headlines of People’s Daily
摘要
一直以来,人们就称新闻标题为新闻报道的眼睛或灵魂。新闻标题语言是简洁的,高度概括的。随着国际交流的日益频繁,阅读新闻在人们生活中占据了重要地位。当今社会生活节奏快,要求仅通过阅读新闻标题便能知悉全文大意。最初受亚里士多德的影响,转喻一直作为“语言层面的一种修辞格”来研究。随着认知语言学的发展,转喻不再仅是一种修辞手法,更重要的是一种思维方式,被看做是人们认识客观世界的重要手段。使用转喻能够更容易的使人们将注意力集中在所要指称对象的显著方面,其在新闻语篇标题的组织中起着重要作用。因此,本文基于认知转喻理论,对新闻标题中出现的转喻进行案例分析,以期人们能够更加准确的理解新闻标题。

Abstract
News headlines have always been regarded as the eyes or soul of news report. Headlines language is concise and highly summarized. With the increasingly frequent communication among international, reading news occupies an important position in people’s lives. Due to the fast pace of life in today’s society, people require to grasp the major events by just reading the headlines. Originally influenced by Aristotle, metonymy was considered as “a rhetorical level language”. With the rise of cognitive linguistics, metonymy not only is a rhetorical device, but also a way of thinking, it is gradually seen as an important way to human understanding of the objective world. Using metonymy can make people focus on the significant aspects of the object which is to be alleged, metonymy plays an important role in the headline news discourse organization. Therefore, based on cognitive metonymy theory, this thesis makes the case studies of the news headlines which contain metonymy, in order to make people more accurately understand of the news headlines.
