The Study on the Use and Translation Strategies of the New Words in Business News

摘要

每年都有很多中文新词语出现，这是外国人更好了解中国的窗口。准确的翻译可以减少摩擦，促进两国间的交流。本篇论文旨在研究商务类报纸中英文翻译。

本文先对对新词语的定义和新词语作了大概的介绍，其中包括新词、类型的缩写，方言词汇，引入外来语和网络语言等。其次，本文又对新词语在商业新闻中的应用以及特点进行了分析。为了解决翻译中存在的问题，译者应注重翻译策略的正确使用。直译，意译，比喻，音译策略等是经常被使用到的翻译策略。本文中的许多例子都是从有影响的报纸上收集的。

Abstract

There are many Chinese new words coming into existence every year, which is a window for foreigners to have a better understanding of China. The accurate translation can reduce friction and promote the communication between two countries. This thesis aims at studying the Chinese-English translation of Chinese new words in business newspapers. 

A general introduction of the thesis is given at the beginning. Then, the definition of new words and the types of the new words including the newly-coined words, abbreviation, dialect vocabulary, loanwords and on-line language is introduced. And it makes an analysis of the application of the new words in business news. In order to solve the problems in translating, translators should focus on the correct use of translation strategies. Literal translation, free translation, analogy, transliteration strategies are often used. And many examples used in this thesis are collected from influential newspapers.
