An Analysis of the Translation of Business English Slangs

摘要

随着语言的不断变化和发展,原先局限于某一阶层的俚语,现已被越来越多的人接受。它不仅在日常生活中,而且在越来越频繁的商务活动中普遍使用。商务英语作为特殊用途英语的一个分支,具有其独特的社会语言背景及内涵，而且因为俚语本身识别和理解的难度，其译语无法充分表达原语言的真是信息，因此影响交流。尤其对于一个从事商务活动的人,如果不能很好的理解俚语,那么在商务活动中,尤其是在重要的贸易洽谈中,将会处于非常被动的地位,甚至会影响生意的成败。所以商务英语中俚语的风格和翻译的研究是一个值得探讨的重要课题。本文简要分析了商务英语中的俚语翻译中所出现的问题，以及如何正确的翻译俚语的方法，对未来的商务交际有着重要的作用。

Abstract

With the continuous change and development of language, the slang, originally confined to a certain class, has been accepted by more and more people. It is widely used not only in daily life, but also in more and more frequent business activities. As a branch of English for special purposes, business English has its unique social linguistic background and connotation, and slang is difficult to recognize and understand, and its translation is difficult to convey the information of the original language sufficiently, thus affecting the communication. Especially for a person who does not understand slang very well, when he is engaging in business activities or some important trade negotiations, he will be in a very passive position, thus affecting the success of the whole business thing. So the study of the style and translation of slangs in business English is an important subject worthy of discussion. In this paper, the author will briefly analyze the problems appearing in the translation of slang in business English and put forward the methods of how to translate the slangs correctly, which plays an important role in the future business communication.
