目的论视角下的汉语叠词英译-以张培基《英译中国现代散文选》为例_英语论文

Reduplicated Word C-E Translation From the Perspective of Skopos Theory---A Case Study of Selected Modern Chinese Essays 1

摘要

叠词作为一种特殊的词汇现象，广泛存在于英汉语言之中。与英语叠词相比，汉语叠词因其音节匀称、形式整齐、形象生动，使用范围广泛，常用于口语之中，也常见于文学作品里。可以说，叠词的丰富和大量使用是汉语的一大特征。本文以张培基《英译中国现代散文选（1）》为研究对象，探讨了本书中叠词的形式和功能；并以德国翻译目的学派创始人汉斯·费米尔的翻译目的论为指导，分别从叠词英译过程中的特征及其技巧进行研究学习。在此研究过程中笔者发现了翻译目的论应用于叠词英译的必要性，以及叠词英译在促进中国文化传播中发挥的重要作用。

Abstract

As a special lexical phenomenon, reduplicated word exists widely in English and Chinese. Compared with English reduplicated words, Chinese reduplicated words are widely used because of their symmetrical syllables, regular forms and vivid images. They are often used in spoken language and also in literary works. It can be said that the extensive use of reduplicated words is a major feature of Chinese. The author of the paper chooses Selected Modern Chinese Essays 1 by Zhang Peiji as the research object and studies the functions and forms of reduplicated words in this book. Besides, under the guidance of skopos theory which was put forward by Hans Vermeer in Germany in the late 1970s, the author gives analysis to the reduplicated word C-E translation from two aspects—features and techniques. After analysis, the author supposes that skopos theory is necessary in the reduplicated word C-E translation which is helpful to the spread of Chinese culture.
