Analysis on Linguistic Deviation in Business English News Headlines

摘要

为了探究商务英语新闻标题中的语言变异现象，本文采用案例法，从英美新闻报道中选取100例商务英语新闻标题，分析其语言变异特点。研究发现：商务英语新闻标题主要从词汇、句法、语义三个层面进行变异。词汇变异主要体现在缩略词和缩写词、简短小词、旧词新意三方面；句法变异的特点表现在省略、时态、语态三方面；语义变异主要表现为暗喻、拟人、双关三个修辞手段。希望本研究能使读者对商务英语新闻标题的语言特点有较为深入的了解，并对新闻工作者提供一定的指导作用。

Abstract

In order to explore the language deviation in business English news headlines, 100 business English news headlines are selected from British and American news reports to analyze their language deviation. It is found that the language deviation in business English news headlines is mainly divided into three categories: lexical level, syntactic level and semantic level. Lexical deviation is mainly reflected in abbreviations and acronyms, midget words and neologism. Syntactic deviation is embodied in ellipsis, tense and voice. Semantic deviation is characterized by metaphor, pun and personification. These findings can help readers have a better understanding of the language features in business English news headlines and offer a significant guidance to journalists.
