诗歌与散文英译的差异性研究-以《黄鹤楼》 和《故都的秋》为例_英语论文

A Comparative Study of Chinese-English Poem and Prose Translation----A Case Study of Yellow Crane Tower and Autumn in Peiping

摘要

在中国的文化历史长河中，诗歌和散文各自占据了中国文学著作的“半壁江山”。无论是古代还是现代的文学形式，都在艺术表现手法、内容、文化背景等很多方面都存在着诸多区别。因此，就需要根据“信、达、雅”的翻译准则，在更好地翻译这两种形式之前对它们进行对比和区别。本文所选的《黄鹤楼》和《故都的秋》译文都是两种文体中极具代表性和广泛认同的版本。本文将着重从语言风格、意象和传递的情感等角度对比这两种文体，之后分析了存在区别的原因，其中两种文学作品的差异性占据了最主要地位，主导着译者主体性、翻译的目的和意图，以及其他外在因素。最后，提出了上述两位译者针对不同文体的比较具有代表性的翻译方法和策略，对它们的使用方式和作用进行了探究。本文旨在为从事文学翻译的译者提供方法建议。

Abstract

Rooted in the historic river of Chinese culture,the poem and prose respectively occupy the”half of the mountain”in Chinese literature works.Modern or classical literary forms,vary in their artistic expression,content,cultural settings and many other ranges.Thereby this calls for the comparison and distinction between these two forms before better translation upon them in accordance with the principle of”faithfulness,expressionist and elegance”.The two translation versions of Yellow Crane Tower and Autumn in Peiping are highly represented and universally acknowledged in the field of both forms. The paper will focus on the comparison of the two literary terms from the aspects of their linguistic style,image and emotion conveyed. Then it analyzes the reasons for differences,in which the distinctions between two literary works plays the most important role,dominating the distinction of translators' subjectivity,aim and goal of translation,and some external factors. With the purpose of a better knowledge and more profound comprehension of various literary art pieces,better experience of possible factors during translation is indispensable,which is,what the eventual purse of this paper. At the conclusion part of the paper several translation strategies and methods used by the translators are summarized.They are also frequently used in literary translation by many translators.Meanwhile the study also focus on in what lingual environment to use them and how they affect translation.Thereby it sets directions and aims for being a proficient translator.
