摘要

本文旨在探究动物词汇在中英不同文化背景下的内涵，主要从中英文化共鸣、文化碰撞和文化空缺三个方面就常见的昆虫类词汇进行具体例子对比分析，并且基于以上的对比结果探索中英动物词汇文化内涵差异的成因，主要分为地理环境、历史文化、宗教信仰以及文学作品四个因素。通过对比常见的昆虫类词汇，以小见大，在一定程度上可以了解英汉文化的差异。另外，通过对动物词汇文化内涵的对比研究，不仅可以有效避免文化交流学习过程中不必要的冲突和语用错误，而且对于外语教学有一定的指导作用。
