A Study on Chinese-English Code-switching of WeChat Moment from the Perspective of Register Theory_英语论文

摘要

语码转换作为一种复杂的语言现象，随着世界文化交流的迅速发展，渐渐成为一种普遍现象。尽管国内外学者对中英语转换的研究热情高涨，但迄今为止有关网络中语码转换的研究仍然甚少。而对微信朋友圈中语码转换的研究有利于弥补这一研究领域的空缺。本文以收集到的80条朋友圈为研究对象，主要从两个方面进行论述。以Poplack对语码转换的分类来探究它的外在结构特点，和以Halliday的语域理论来分析产生语码转换的内在动机。本文的结论是：朋友圈中的中英语码转换是一种有目的的行为，是社会生活对语言产生影响的表现。分析其中原因有利于我们更好地理解和运用语码转换，并从中窥视社会变化和文化发展。

Abstract

With the rapid development of cultural exchanges in the world, code-switching, as a complex language phenomenon, has become a common phenomenon. Although scholars at home and abroad are enthusiastic about the study of Chinese-English code-switching, there are still few studies on code-switching in the network so far. The research on code-switching in WeChat Moment is helpful to make up for the gap in this field. Taking 80 messages on WeChat Moment as the research object, this paper mainly discusses the external structural characteristics of code-switching by using Poplack's classification of code-switching and the internal motivation of code-switching by Halliday's register theory. The conclusion is that code-switching between Chinese and English in WeChat Moment is a purposeful behavior and a manifestation of the influence of social life on language. Analyzing the causes benefits us to understand and use code-switching better and see from it the social change and cultural development.
