An Analysis of Dialogues in Sherlock from the Perspective of Interpersonal Metafunction_英语论文
摘要
人物对白不仅推动电视剧情节发展,更是剧中人物性格以及心理活动的重要体现。英国电视台BBC制作的《神探夏洛克》电视系列剧作为对经典侦探小说的改编,以紧凑的剧情和复杂的案情引人入胜,剧中人物的对白更是处处反映出人物的语气态度以及情态选择,隐藏着对话参与者在话语中体现的人际功能。本文将从韩礼德的系统功能语言学的人际功能的理论视角,从语气系统及情态系统对《神探夏洛克》剧中人物对白进行语例分析。研究发现,人物对白中的人际功能体现于对白中的语气选择和情态取向,从而有助于剧中人物建立良好的人际关系、协调的社会关系以及表达人物态度。

Abstract
Dialogues in TV series are not only what drive the plot, but also embody the characteristic and mental process of the characters. Sherlock, the TV series produced by BBC, is an adaption of serial novel of Sherlock Holmes written by Arthur Conan Doyle(1887), attracting audience by its compact and intricate plots. Dialogues reflect mood, attitude and judgment of the characters. Based on the Systemic Functional Linguistics from Halliday, the thesis particularly makes cases analysis on dialogues of Sherlock from the aspects of Mood system and Modal system, aiming at representing the interpersonal metafunction implied in the dialogues and proving the functional elements are beneficial to the human relationships as well as for characters expressing their attitudes.
