An Analysis of C-E Interpretation of Keynote Speech at the Opening Ceremony of the 1st CIIE Based on Text Typology Theory_英语论文

摘要

在这个全球化时代，不同文化的交流日益密切，显示着外交演讲的重要性。近几十年来，不少国内学者从功能翻译理论角度和修辞劝说理论角度对外交演讲进行了研究，致力于探究外交演讲的翻译策略，但是将文本类型理论和外交演讲口译相结合的系统研究较为不足。本文旨在从赖斯提出的文本类型理论角度出发展开对首届中国国际进口博览会主旨演讲的英译的分析，从中国日报网站获得该演讲双语全文，以此为例进行结合案例分析以及统计学分析的定性分析，分析该演讲所涉及的文本类型，所采用的翻译策略以及翻译技巧，从而得出外交演讲所包含文本类型、译文所使用翻译策略以及翻译技巧，进而得出外交演讲的文本特点以及不同文本通常采取的翻译策略及技巧。

Abstract

In the era of globalization, exchanges among different cultures are expanding, demonstrating the importance of diplomatic speech. In recent decades, studies on diplomatic speech interpretation conducted by Chinese scholars have mostly focused on translation strategies from the perspectives of Functional Theory and Rhetorical Persuasion Theory. However, studies of diplomatic speech interpretation based on Text Type Theory are relatively insufficient. This paper intends to analyze the C-E interpretation of the keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the first CIIE based on Reiss' Text Typology Theory, and to make it clear what text types it contains, what translation strategies and techniques are used in it. With the bilingual text of the keynote speech taken from China Daily, this paper does a qualitative study combining case analysis and statistical analysis on the text types in it and translation strategies applied in different text types. After the analysis, this paper points out the characteristics of texts in diplomatic speeches and generalizes what translation strategies and techniques are used for different text types.
