摘要 

纽马克是著名的翻译家和翻译理论家。上个世纪60年代末，翻译开始引起广泛关注。特别是语言学的相关理论介入后，翻译研究取得了很大成果。彼得·纽马克凭借他多年的翻译实践和教育经验，将语言学的翻译理论与教育实践相结合，在分析总结其他流派翻译思想的基础上，开始提出一些翻译理论。其中包括交际翻译理论，语义翻译理论和关联翻译法。

纽马克翻译理论的形成过程是循序渐进，不断优化的。他在不同时期受到不同环境背景和不同人的影响，不断精进优化他的翻译理论。本文主要研究彼得·纽马克翻译理论的思想史，介绍梳理纽马克翻译理论产生及其背景。研究其在奥凯西，维果茨基和乔姆斯基的影响下如何逐步形成交际翻译和语义翻译理论，关联翻译法是在什么情况下诞生的。纽马克翻译理论的具体内容是什么。本文基于几个具体的翻译实例，研究纽马克的翻译理论对之后的翻译界产生怎样的影响，及其他的翻译理论在一些翻译研究领域的应用。
