摘要

当前,国内银行借助一带一路带来的机会,正努力走向世界,从而开展国际业务。因此,将银行简介有效地翻译成相应的英文简介显得格外重要。英文简介有助于向潜客户宣传银行的信息并建立起商业关系。

本文从纽马克文本类型理论出发尝试性研究国内银行简介并以中国工商银行,中国银行和中国农业银行的网页简介为例,定性分析银行简介的文本功能并提出省略,转换,直译,重组等翻译方法。研究结果表明由纽马克提出的交际翻译十分适合银行简介的翻译,能够实现文本的信息和呼吁功能。

Abstract

Taking the opportunity created by the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese banks are now striving to go to the outside world and conduct international business. Thus, it is particularly indispensable for them to translate their profiles effectively into the counterpart English version, which helps publicize a bank’ssituation to the potential customers and eventually establish business relationships. 

Under the guidance of Newmark’s text typology theory, the thesis tentatively explores Chinese bank profiles and takes the examples from the webpage profiles of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), Bank of China (BOC) and Agricultural Bank of China (ABC).Through a qualitative study, this thesis analyzes the textfunctionsof the bankprofiles and proposesthe translation methods of omission, shift, literal translation and reorganization forsuch type of texts. The findings suggest that the communicative translationadvocated by Newmark is perfectly applicable to the rendition of the bankprofiles,able to achieve the informative and vocative functions of the texts.
