A Comparative Study of the Three English Versions of Yu Xiang from the Perspective of Three-Beauty Principle_英语论文
摘要
中国诗词是中国传统文化的象征,诗歌翻译在翻译实践中占据着重要地位。翻译难不过于译诗,必须忠实传递原作者的想法、情感和风格,诗歌翻译充满智慧与挑战。三美原则是许渊冲先生提出的诗歌翻译的标准。本文试图通过“三美”论的指导,以戴望舒的代表作《雨巷》为研究对象,选取三个有代表性的英译本,从意美、音美、形美的角度对译作进行深入的对比分析。
研究发现,Gregory B. Lee的译本是最成功的,在音、意、形方面都较好的再现了原文的美感,符合了三美原则。 关键词:诗歌翻译 三美论 雨巷
Abstract
Chinese poetry is a symbol of Chinese culture. Poetry translation has played an important role in translation practice and is more difficult than any other genres. The translation needs to convey the poet’s thought, feeling and style,which fills the translation with wisdom and challenges. Three-beauty principle is a criterion for poetry translation proposed by Xu Yuanchong. This paper has made a comparative study of three representative English versions of Yu Xiang from the perspective of Three-Beauty Principle. It is found that Gregory B. Lee’s version is the best because beauty in sense, beauty in sound and beauty in form are presented well, which conforms to Three-Beauty Principle.
