The Comparison Between Eileen Zhang and Virginia Woolf From the perspective of feminism_英语论文

摘要

中国现代女作家张爱玲 (1921 -1995)和英国女作家伍尔芙 (Virginia Woolf , 1882-1941)分别是中西方女性主义的先驱, 是不同文化背景下的女性主义代表。本文主要比较了两人的女性主义不同与相同之处，进而上升到中西方女性主义的比较，旨在为中国女性主义的发展提供借鉴与指明方向。

本文首先比较了伍尔夫与张爱玲的家庭背景，生活环境与个人经历，指出两人虽经历不同，却都意识到了女性的从属地位，并希望有所改变。接着比较了两人对女性从属地位的原因的认识的不同，再次，比较了两人对男女关系的不同看法，最后比较了两人反对的传统的不同。

通过对上述方面的对比研究和阐释，本文认识到比起西方女性主义，中国女性主义鲜有明确的理论指导，没有和实践相结合，并且相较于西方的女性主义，其影响力更为微弱。因此，本文认为，加深对西方女性主义的研究可以为中国女性主义提供理论支持，有一定的借鉴意义。

Abstract

Chinese modern female writer Eileen Chang (1921 -1995) and English female writer Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) are pioneers of eastern and western feminists respectively, and they symbolize the origin of feminism in different culture backgrounds. This thesis compared Eileen and Woolf's difference and common points in feminism. On the bases of the comparison, this essay compares western and Chinese feminism in order to provide references for the development of Chinese feminism.

The essay first compares their family background, living environment, and individual experience, then the essay compares their difference in the reason of women's status. Moreover, the essay compares their ideas in the relationship of man and woman. Finally, the essay points out the differences in what tradition they want to destroy.

After the comparison, the essay realizes that the research on Western feminism will help the study of Chinese feminism..
