摘要

随着21世纪的到来，中国跨入了信息时代。信息时代的技术力量不断推动人类创造新的世界。互联网，也正以改变一切的力量，在中国甚至全球范围掀起了一场影响人类所有层面的深刻变革。人们利用互联网，了解外界信息，并与外界交流共享。出于交流的需要，网民开始创造性的产生和使用一些网络词语，随后引起网民的共鸣，成为一系列网络热词。从2006年到如今，网络热词如雨后春笋般迭出。网络热词的使用越来越广泛，涉及政治、经济和文化等多个方面。网络热词也成为语言现象，反映了当代社会现状与其网络文化。

本文旨在以网络热词的英译为例，通过文献研究，结合翻译原则、翻译策略和方法深入的分析讨论网络热词英译。最后总结出网络热词在英译时应考虑的原则、策略和方法。恰当的网络热词英译是在相关翻译原则的指导下找到合适的翻译策略和方法。而翻译策略和方法多样，本文讨论的网络热词英译策略与方法主要包括直译，意译、音译、创译和注释。通过对网络热词英译研究，希望帮助人们更好认识网络热词并运用翻译原则、翻译策略和翻译方法进行地道的翻译，即网络热词英译时，帮助译者尽可能保留源语文化内涵，准确翻译网络热词，希望通过对网络热词的英译更好的了解和传播当代中国文化，成功实现跨文化交际。

Abstract

Since 21st century, the Internet has developed quickly with its widely use in the entire world. In consequence, an increasingly number of netizens discuss and share their views online. And plenty of online buzzwords emerge on the platform of Internet. And they are used in different fields, such as politics, economics, cultures and so on. Online buzzwords thus have become a prominent and particular language phenomenon. It is not only a kind of language phenomenon, but also a kind of cultural phenomenon. 

The paper aims to analysis and discuss skills and methods commonly used on online buzzwords in English Chinese translation in-depth, taking some C-E translation of online buzzwords as examples, and combining with the relevant translation principles, strategies and methods through literature research. Finally, it summarizes the translation principles, translation strategies and translation methods among them which should be taken into account in the C-E translation of online buzzwords. The methods include literal translation, free translation, transliteration, annotation and creative translation. Based on the studies on the translation of online buzzwords, it hopes to help translators use translation strategies and methods in different situations correctly. In other words, it emphasizes that the translator in the online buzzwords in C-E translation, as far as possible retains the source language culture connotation and meaning that the readers understand what the online buzzwords express. In addition, it can help the translator to translate the online buzzwords accurately. It is hoped that through the translation of the online buzzwords in the network, more people will be able to understand and transfer the contemporary Chinese culture better and make the cross-cultural communication successfully.
