摘要 

越来越多的中国科幻小说走出国门，继刘慈欣的《三体》之后，郝景芳的《北京折叠》又一次获得了科幻界的最高荣誉——雨果奖。《北京折叠》讲述了主人公老刀被生活所迫，冒着生命危险跨越三个空间替人送信的故事，揭露了阶层间的资源分配不均，表达了当代人们对于阶层割裂趋势的深切焦虑。翻译在中国科幻小说走向世界的过程中功不可没，先前的学者大多从功能对等、三美原则视角研究《北京折叠》英译本的的字词句，却忽视了译者刘宇昆的翻译目的。目的论以翻译的目的为核心，其首要原则是目的原则，翻译目的决定了译者采用的策略和方法。因此，本文拟采用案例分析的研究方法，从目的论视角出发，探讨刘宇昆翻译《北京折叠》的目的及其采用的翻译策略和技巧。研究发现：为了让读者更好地理解译文，增强译文的可读性和欣赏性，译者遵循连贯原则与归化的翻译策略，采用了意译和替换的翻译技巧；为了使得译文更加吸引读者，保留原文本的特点，译者遵循忠实原则与异化的翻译策略，采用了增译和音译的翻译技巧。
