摘要

语言的三大要素是语音、语法和词汇。词汇量的多少及词汇应用能力直接关系学生学习效果。我国的传统词汇教学法强调词汇的音、形、义，却忽视了词汇的认知理解。

本文从隐喻理论出发，主要讨论词汇教学的隐喻认知策略及隐喻能力培养的方法。首先大致分析了国内外词汇教学以及隐喻研究的现状，包括对隐喻理论定义、运行机制、特征与功能的探讨。其次论述将隐喻理论应用于词汇教学的依据。然后结合隐喻理论，就英语中的一词多义、词块、和具有文化内涵的习语展开隐喻教学给出了策略，以提高学习者的隐喻能力。

通过探讨,本论文得到如下结论：

1.语言学习实质上需要学习目的语的隐喻系统，隐喻知识应融入用于外语词汇教学。

2.在外语教学中,外语教师应利用隐喻进行语言教学，尤其是词汇教学，并掌握一定词汇教学的隐喻认知策略，利用词汇隐喻教学的过程培养学习者的隐喻能力。
