摘要 

本文从跨文化视角来对比分析中英死亡委婉语的异同。研究发现，无论是在汉语还是英语中，对于死亡的表述通常都是采取委婉语的手段。死亡委婉语作为一种普遍存在的语言现象，它的形成必定有其特殊的文化渊源。中英死亡委婉语的形成其实都是对自身文化的反映，两者有相同点也存在着许多不同点。通过对比分析两者之间的异同点，可望进一步发掘中英之间的文化差异。
