A Comparative Study on Three Versions of Stray Birds—From the Perspective of Translation as Adaptation and Selection_英语论文
摘要
《飞鸟集》是泰戈尔最有名的代表作之一,由325首没有题目的清丽短诗组成。自出版以来,至少有过15个中文版本,郑振铎、白开元、徐翰林、陆晋德、冯唐等都曾翻译过《飞鸟集》。在2015年下半年,冯唐《飞鸟集》译本在翻译界引起轩然大波,引发了对翻译经典文学作品的讨论。本文从三个中译本《飞鸟集》中挑选了几首诗作为案例进行对比分析,它们分别是最经典的郑振铎译本,陆晋德的译本,以及饱受争议的冯唐译本。本文将对译者的翻译生态环境,以及其从语言、文化、交流三个维度对翻译生态环境做出的适应与选择。
翻译适应选择论由胡庚申教授首次提出,2004年他出版了《翻译适应选择论》。他认为翻译是以译者为主导、以文本为依托、以跨文化信息转换为宗旨的译者适应与译者选择行为。翻译作为译者适应翻译生态环境的一种选择活动,其方法主要集中于三维转换,即语言维,文化维,交流维的适应性选择转换,并且他认为翻译的最终评判标准是整合适应选择度。
本论文运用翻译适应选择论对《飞鸟集》的三个中译本进行对比分析,得出以下结论:三位译者都对其翻译生态坏境作出了适应与选择;尽管译者在翻译过程中有诸多限制因素,但依旧占据主导地位,验证了胡庚申的“译者中心”论;经典作品需要进行重翻工作且译本不能仅以绝对的好或坏进行评判。
