On the Origins, Classifications and Causes of Loan Words in English_英语论文

摘要

据统计，英语词汇中大概有80%的词汇都是借用其他语言的外来词。由于外来民族的入侵、文化渗透以及贸易往来等因素，以及英语词汇本身与其他西方国家语言具有互通性等英语本身所具有的特征，这些外来词主要通过借用其他语言的构词成分或者是原词汇进入到英语词汇中。大量的英语中的外来词及其构词成分在英语词汇中占据非常重要的位置, 并对英语词汇有重大影响。这影响在于，一方面，这些外来词使英语词汇的数量得到了极大的增加，并且丰富了其表现能力，另一方面，这些外来词也相对应地增加了英语学习的难度。因为这些外来词不仅来源广泛、数量巨大，而且在词汇的音和形等方面的同化程度并不相同，在词义方面也与英语本族词有一定的不同。因此研究分析英语外来词的来源、特征、分类及成因对帮助学习者更好的认识英语具有重要意义。

本文在回顾前人研究成果的基础上，主要研究英语中外来词的分类、来源及成因。首先根据英语中外来词的借用方式，可以将英语外来词分为同化词、非同化词、译借词和借义词，其次，根据英语中外来词的构词形式，可以将外来词分为音近词和形近词。而英语外来词的来源主要有希腊语、法语、拉丁语、斯坎迪纳维亚语等语言。外来词的成因主要从外族入侵与征服、文化渗透、贸易往来和殖民扩张三个方面进行阐述。
