论红楼梦文化习俗词的翻译接受度-以霍克斯译本为例

On the Acceptability of Translation of the Cultural Loaded Idioms in The Story of the Stone 

—Taking Hawkes’s translation as a Case

摘要

翻译是把一种语言转化为另一种语言。语言与文化的密切关系注定了翻译与文化的密切关系，不言而喻，两种语言转化的过程中必然会涉及到两种文化，而翻译的本质在于文化的交流。随着翻译与文化的关系日益密切，文化习俗词的翻译显得尤为重要。本文主要探讨《红楼梦》中文化习俗词的翻译接受度。通过分析中西方文化的差异，探讨能够将原文中的文化为目的读者所接受的优秀的翻译策略。霍克斯的英译本受到国内外众多专家的认可和接受。他对这部作品的翻译不论是在艺术信息的表达还是主题上的信息表达上都取得了显著的成就。对文化习俗的翻译，也包含众多的翻译手法，大部分译文都实现了文化为目的读者接受，但是仍有一些未达到文化传播的效果。本文将总结其中实现文化接受的好的翻译策略，对其中一些没有传达我国优秀文化的翻译提出自己的看法。

Abstract

Translation is the conversion of ond ìѡnguage into another. The close relationship between language and culture determines the close relationship between translation and culture. It is an understood thing that it must come down to two kinds of culture in the process of the transformation of the two languages. With the increasingly close relationship between translation and culture, it becomes more and more important for the good translation of the cultural loaded idioms. This paper will take Hawkes's English version of The Story of The Stone as an example, through the analysis of the differences between Chinese and Western culture, to explore the realization of cultural acceptance of excellent translation strategies. Hawkes's version can be described as outstanding, recognized by many experts at home and abroad accepted. His translation of this novel has made remarkable achievements both in the expression of artistic information and on the expression of information on the subject. The translation of cultural customs, also contains a number of translation techniques, most of them to achieve cultural acceptance, but there are still some expressions did not achieve the effect of cultural communication. This paper summarizes the good translation strategies to achieve cultural acceptance, and put forward some views on the translation of some excellent culture.
