中英动物词汇差异的分析

Brief Analysis of Animal Words in English and Chinese

摘要

受到各种因素的影响，中英动物词汇的内涵意义是不一样的。这篇论文主要通过两方面来研究中英动物词汇的内涵差异。第一是将中英动物词汇进行分类，第二是研究造成中英动物词汇差异的原因。通过对前人文献的整理和分析，我发现根据动物词汇的内涵差异，可以将动物词汇分成五类。而造成中英动物词汇内涵差异的原因有很多,分别是地理环境，风俗习惯，宗教，传说，语音系统以及价值观。

Abstract

Impacted by many factors, the connotation of animal words in English and Chinese are different. This paper aims to analyze the differences between English and Chinese animal words from two aspects: the classification of animal words in English; the causes of connotative differences of animal words in Chinese and English. Through the collection and analysis of previous literature about animal words, I found that English and Chinese animal words can be divided into five kinds according to their connotations. And geographical environment, custom, legend and mythology, religion, speech semantic system and values are main factors that cause the differences in the connotation of English and Chinese animal words.
