摘要

《乱世佳人》的女主人公斯嘉丽是一个耐人寻味的人物。从南北战争前无忧无虑的十六岁庄园主小姐到战争中的新婚寡妇，再到战后重建时有过几次婚姻却最终在二十八岁时成为孤家寡人，斯佳丽在短短十二年中经历了整个美国经济基础和上层建筑的巨大变革，于自觉不自觉中体现出了人性中自然性与社会性在不同的社会历史时期的斗争及协调的过程。战前，斯佳丽抛弃礼节和矜持，敢爱敢恨，不顾一切追求自己的爱；战争期间为了生存，她克服了贵族小姐的娇气，勇敢地担起保护家人的职责；战后又勇敢地冲破身上枷锁，追求自我价值。小说通过对女性形象的塑造，表现出追求男女平等，女性摆脱社会桎梏的价值追求。
