顺应论视角下高铁站公示语英译的误译分析及对策_英语论文
Analysis on the C-E Translation Errors of Public-Signs at High-speed Rail Stations and Countermeasures from the Perspective of Adaptation Theory
摘要
随着中国经济的发展及其国际地位的提高,越来越多的外国人来华投资或旅游,高铁站公示语为他们在中国的出行提供了便利。公示语是指在公共场所向公众传递或表达某一信息时,以文字或图形的形式出现的一种特殊的应用文体。语言顺应论是指从顺应出发,将语言看作是发话人与受话人不断做出选择的过程。顺应论作为一个极富解释力和适应性的理论,对应用文体的翻译实践有很强的指导作用。
本文从顺应论视角出发,通过整理分析论文作者从高铁站搜集来的公示语误译的相关语料,总结出高铁站公示语误译主要有两类,其一是语言层面错误,包括拼写错误、直接使用中文拼音、选词错误、机械翻译、逐字翻译、词性错误和其他错误(指不规则的表达错误);其二是语用层面错误,主要是因文化冲突而引起的错误。从顺应视角出发,论文指出在公示语的汉英翻译过程中,译者应顺应英语的习惯性表达,顺应英语文化,顺应英语公示语语言的表达特点。

Abstract
With the booming development of Chinese economy and the great improvement of its international status, more and more foreigners come to invest or travel in China, and public-signs at high-speed rail stations provides much convenience for their journey in China. Public-signs refers to a special practical writing in forms of characters or pictures in public places to deliver messages to the public. Adaptation Theory is a process of continuously making choices between addressers and addressees on the use of language from the view of adapting. As a theory with great explaining power and adaptability, Adaptation Theory has very strong guiding function to the translation practice.
The author of the thesis gathers the related translation errors’ materials of public-signs from some high-speed rail stations, makes analysis on them, and then puts them into two kinds. One is linguistic errors, including mis-spelling, using Chinese Pinyin directly, wrong choice of words, mechanical translation, word-for-word translation, wrong parts of speech and other errors (mainly refers to incorrect expression). The other is pragmatic errors, mainly composed of cultural conflicts. From the perspective of Adaptation Theory, the thesis points out the translators should adapt to the habitual expression in English, English culture and the expression feature of English public-signs in the process of C-E translations of public-signs at high-speed rail stations.
