摘要

笔者从奥斯汀言语行为模式出发来研究《了不起的盖茨比》这部小说中的人物对话。通过研究小说对话的言内行为、言外行为和言后行为，笔者发现了言内行为、言外行为、言后行为这三者在日常对话中的出现规律——言内行为必然出现，言外行为有可能蕴含在言内行为之中，言后行为的出现取决于听者是否做出符合说话者要求的行为。笔者还发现恰当运用言内行为与言外行为能够促进言后行为的产生。因此笔者希望借此研究能够帮助人们理解、解读日常对话并做出正确回应，减少日常对话中不必要的尴尬，提高日常聊天、谈话的效率；同时此研究能够有助于说话者根据日常生活的不同情境有效表达出自己的意愿、观点；帮助听者理解说话者的真实意图并选择是否做出符合说话者要求的行为。
