On Syntactic Features and Translation Strategies of Long Sentences in Business English Contracts

摘要

随着全球经济的一体化和世界贸易的日趋融合，世界各国之间的技术合作和经济往来日益增多，跨国商务过的日渐频繁，商务合同合作作为国际贸易中一项重要的交际方式。

商务英语合同中长句具有四个典型的句法特征，及固定句式，复合句，条件状语从句，以及陈述句的频繁使用。在这一情况下，提出了翻译商务合同长句的四个翻译策略___分译、合译、逆译、顺译。随之又进一步阐述了商务英语合同长句的翻译的两个难点，在此基础上又提出了三个对译者的要求。通过上面的分析后希望给从事商务英语合同翻译的人员一些有益的帮助。

Abstract

As the global economy integration and the increasing integration of the world trade, technical cooperation and economic exchanges between the countries all over the world are increasing frequently, So does the cross-border business.Business cooperation is important way of communication in international trade. 

There are four specific syntactic features of long sentence in business English contracts that is the frequent uses of the fixed sentence, compound sentence, adverbial clause of condition and the declarative sentence. Four translation strategies are proposed under this situation which included the division, combination, inversion and sequencing. Next,the difficulties and some requirements are raised. There will be some help for people who engaged in the translation of business English contracts through the study.
