Teaching English as an International Language in China Context
摘要
本研究探讨英语作为一种国际语言在中国环境中的教学。随着英语的国际地位的提升,如何发展中国的英语教育是值得思考的问题。
通过查阅国际英语的概念和现有著作对于国际英语以及国际英语教学的研究,本文分析了英语作为国际语背景下的中国英语教学的政策方向和英语教学材料、教学方法、教师观念以及未来英语教学在中国的发展趋势。基于国际英语的理论,英语教学要以培养学生的跨文化交际能力为目标;英语教师尊重各种英语变体的存在,形成具有特色的英语教学风格。

Abstract
This study explores the teaching of English as an international language in China. With the promotion of English's international status, how to develop China's English education is a question worth considering.
By referring to the notion of EIL(EIL is the abbreviation form for English as an International Language) and existing research on EIL teaching , this paper analyzes the English teaching policy direction, English teaching materials, teaching methods, teaching ideas in EIL context and the future developing trend of English Teaching in China. According to the notion of EIL, English teaching should aim at cultivating students' intercultural communication competence; English teachers respect different variants of English and form a distinctive style of English teaching.
