Translation of Cosmetics Trademarks from the Perspective of Reception Aesthetics
Abstract
With the continuous economic globalization, China’s economic relations with other countries are closer. At the same time, in the 21st century, China is experiencing rapid economic development. People’s income level and consumption level have been continuously improved, so does the quality of life. As a result, a large number of overseas cosmetics have flooded into the Chinese market, and Chinese cosmetics have been sold to overseas markets. How to realize the localization of cosmetics trademarks, which may result in being adored by the consumers, is especially significant for producer. Therefore, the translation methods of cosmetic trademark play a vital role. And the previous dissertations on the translation of cosmetics trademarks focused on the translation techniques and language features. Nevertheless, this thesis would study the translation of cosmetics trademarks from the perspective of reception aesthetic.
This thesis consists of four chapters: the first chapter expounds the main theories of reception aesthetics; the second chapter introduces the function and features of cosmetics trademarks; the third chapter introduces the principles, strategy, methods for the translation of cosmetics trademarks; the fourth chapter elaborates the advantages of cosmetics trademark translation from the perspective of reception aesthetic. Through the analysis of the above four chapters, we can obtain the feasibility of studying the translation of cosmetics trademarks from the perspective of reception aesthetics, providing references for the translation of cosmetics trademarks.
