摘要

自《芒果街上的小屋》出版以来，芒果街已成为少数民族磨难历程和艰苦奋斗的标志。作者桑德拉.西斯内罗引导人们开始了对后殖民女性主义的讨论。该作品在反映美国境内墨西哥族裔群体，尤其是墨西哥裔美国女性的当代生活现状和集体心理状态上独树一帜。本文以女主人公埃斯佩朗莎既想依靠又渴望抛下的家园为出发点，分析了墨西哥裔移民女性的身份追寻过程中遭遇的种种障碍，揭示了少数民族女性移民如何克服种族歧视和性别歧视，通过自我妥协、充实和提高来追寻梦想。

Abstract

Since the publication of The House on Mango Street, Mango street has become a sigh of the suffering and fighting of the ethnic minority groups, and has sparkled a discussion of postcolonial feminism. The book reflects the life of ethnic groups in the United States, especially that of Mexican American women and their struggles and dreams. The heroine Esperanza both wants to depend on and has the desire of leaving her home at the same time. This thesis attempts to disclose the struggles of the ethnic women in their search for the identity, and now they overcome the barriers of racism and sexism to realize their dreams by self-compromise and self-improvement.
