本论文基于此理论,研究“UCP600”(全称为“The Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, ICC Publication No. 600”)的英汉翻译。

1.Introduction
In the history, a lot of oriental and western scholars and researchers have devoted themselves to studying Functional Equivalence Theory. They mainly focused on the definition and origin of this famous theory in the translation field. Besides, some famous and useful thoughts for translation have been put forward. Christiane Nord (2001) first made use of English to summarize the function to send a variety of academic thoughts, functional complexity of academic theories and terminology introduced in a simple language and abundant examples. About the origin of the theory of functional equivalence, it can be dated back to the famous American translation theorist Eugene Nida. Tan Zaixi (1999) mentioned that functional equivalence refers to the semantic information of style, with the closest natural equivalence of language to reproduce the source information in the language. Zhang Meiqi (2011) analyzed the application of functional equivalence theory in contract translation and put forward three translation strategies: conversion, replacement and addition. Li Jiangchun (2005) discussed the translation of business English. Du Yan (2012) described the application of functional equivalence theory in the translation of business contracts in the contract, the source text and the target text with the same communicative purpose or function. “There are, properly speaking, no identical equivalence.”(Jiang Yimin, Liu Cuilan, 2003). The words in “UCP600” are more concise, exact, comprehensible, and keeps up with the time (Su Liping, 2009).
