摘　要

儿童文学，对儿童的成长起着重要的作用，儿童文学的翻译作品为不同文化环境下的孩子搭建了交流的平台。然而，不同国家的语言文字蕴含了不同的文化内涵，而将这些内涵用另一种语言翻译出来确实不易，更何况是儿童文学。儿童文学的读者是儿童，这一特殊性决定了儿童文学翻译的特殊性，应考虑儿童的兴趣、爱好以及他们的理解能力，用符合儿童语言习惯来表达。本文通过对几部经典儿童文学作品中的翻译实例剖析, 分析了归化法在英语儿童文学汉译中的具体运用, 指出了由于目标读者的特殊性, 在处理语言文字信息时, 归化法可作为英语儿童文学的主要汉译方法。第一部分介绍了儿童文学研究的背景和归化在儿童文学翻译中的重要性，第二部分介绍了儿童文学的定义和特点。第三部分阐述了归化的定义，最后论述了归化法在儿童文学翻译中的具体运用。通过分析比较，可以得出归化法可以尽量减少译文中的异国情调，为目的语读者提供一种自然流畅的译文，从而使读者便于理解与接受。

Abstract

Children’s literature plays an important role in the development of children. Translated children’s books build bridges among children of different cultures. However, languages in different countries include different cultures, so it is not easy to handle these cultures in another language, let alone translation of children’s literature. With children as the target readership, children’s literature differs from literature in general, hence the particular of translation for children. Therefore, the interest, abilities, and language habit of children should be the foremost concern during the translation. This paper analyzes several classical children’s literary works and their Chinese versions. It illustrates the exertion of domestication in translation of children’s literature and points out that domestication should be adopted as the primary method in children’s literature while linguistic elements are dealt with. The first part introduces the background of children’s literature study and the importance of domestication in translation of children’s literature. The second part simply gives the definition and characteristics of children’s literature. The third part introduces the definition of domestication. And the last illustrates the exertion of domestication in translation of children’s literature. Through analyzing and comparing, it can be concluded that domestication can help to erase every shred of foreignness and create a familiarized and immediately recognizable text, and adjust to the target text’s linguistic and cultural dimensions, which helps children understand and accept easily.

1 Introduction
The study of translation has made substantial progress in recent decades. Regrettably, translation of children’s literature is almost ignored in the world, especially in China. In a globalized world like today, there is no doubt that communication between children’s literature at home and abroad has been more active than it used to be. No matter which country has good films or books, other countries could share them in a short time, of which children’s literature is also an important part. Until now, China has imported many excellent children’s literature from all over the world.
