摘　要

一直以来，语言都是生活密不可分但是却又很不被大众所关注的一部分，英汉两种语言中的文化词汇非常丰富，而语言的交流中必不可少的是动物习语的使用。不仅能让大家使用非常方便，而且还非常的形象生动。动物不仅是人类的重要衣食来源，许多动物形象又积淀着特定的民族心理，负载着人们的感情，传递着民族的文化，形成了每个民族独特的动物文化。而动物具有显著的特征，英汉语言中对这些特性看法总体相同，但是由于不同的文化背景，对同一动物词赋予不同的文化内涵，通常一种动物的概念意义完全相同而其文化内涵却有明显差异，因此英汉两种语言使用和翻译中应该注意到该词的文化内涵，避免歧义。汉英习语中都有大量与动物相关的词汇，这些动物词语都不仅仅是动物形象的符号代表，它们和文化密不可分，是文化的载体。揭示出汉英两种语系在动物喻体的选择上存在的规律。因此，只有掌握了丰富的语言文化知识，深入地了解汉英文化传统和风俗习惯的统一性和差异性，才能进行好好比较和翻译，才能真正学好英语并成功的进行跨文化交际。

Abstract

All the time, the language is inseparable, but people do not focus on this part, the vocabulary of culture is very rich between Chinese and English language, while, as we all know, among the communication, we need to use the animal idioms. Animal idioms are not only convenient for people, but also make the words and sentences vivid. The animals is the main food source for people, while accumulation of specific national psychology, loaded with people's feelings, deliver the nations’ culture, these parts made up of the unique animal culture of each different nation. Animals are always with significant features. And English and Chinese people have the different views on those same characteristics, so because of different cultural backgrounds, the same animal words which are given different cultural connotations. It is usual that the meanings of the concept of the animal words are quite same, but the cultural are absolutely different. Therefore when we use the animal words, we must be careful about the usage and translation of the words’ cultural to avoid ambiguity.The Chinese and English idioms have a lot of vocabulary about the animals. These animal idioms present the animal idioms; they are familiar with culture, and the cultural carrier. It announces the rule among the Chinese and English animal idioms metaphor. Thus, only when we master the words’ rich cultural knowledge, will we know the similarities and differences of cultural traditions, manners, customs and so on, will we compare, translate, and learn English well and get the successful cross-cultural communication.

1 Introduction
Since human beings have something in common, share the same nature, and own similar cognitive experience, there are commonness between the ethnic cultures. However, because of the differences for each nation’s environment, such as different social systems, geographical positions, material productions, histories and cultures, religions, customs and so on, there are also individualities. Namely, there are differences between their cultures. Language is the carrier of culture, and the cultural differences must be reflected in the languages of various nationalities. Idioms are established, complete language forms that people accumulate in the long-term process of work, life and sports, which include phrases, proverbs, slangs, etc…
