摘  要

随着经济全球化进程的快速发展和不断深化，国际贸易活动日趋频繁。外贸英语变得越来越重要，其翻译也备受关注。外贸英语和通用英语有着语言的一般共性，但在使用范围、语体特征、词汇意义等方面又有所区别，具有自身的特点，一般的翻译理论并不完全适合外贸英语翻译。因此如何根据外贸英语的自身特点，确定外贸英语的翻译标准，既有宏观的理论指导价值又有切实的实践指导意义。通过外贸英语信函人们可以便捷地交流信息，业务往来，洽谈贸易，传递友谊等。要书写好一封外贸信函，首先要了解外贸信函的语言特征及一些主要原则。本文从词汇，句法，语法，文本四个方面分析了外贸英语信函的语言特征并从习惯用语，礼貌用语，被动句，定语从句的翻译方面分析了外贸英语信函的翻译技巧。

Abstract

With the rapid development and deepening of the economic globalization, the international trade activities become increasingly frequent. The foreign trade English becomes more and more important and its translation has been attracting more and more attention. Foreign trade English shares the common similarities with common English, but it still has differences in such aspects as use scope, stylistic features and lexical meanings, with its own unique features as well. Hence, general translation theories cannot be directly applied to foreign trade English translation. Therefore, it is of theoretical value and practical significance to establish translation criteria of foreign trade English on the basis of the unique features of foreign trade English. Through the foreign trade English correspondence, people can exchange information, maintain business, negotiate trade, pass friendship and so on. To write a good foreign trade English correspondence, first of all, is to understand the linguistic features of the foreign trade English correspondence and some main principles. This article aims to analyze the linguistic features of the foreign trade English correspondence in terms of the following four aspects: lexical features, syntactic features, grammatical features and textual features. It also analyzes the translating skills of the foreign trade English correspondence based on the translation of the idioms, polite language, passive sentence and attributive clause.

1 Introduction
This paper aims to introduce the linguistic features and translating skills of the foreign trade English correspondence, which consists of the business terms and business expressions. Compared with the foreign trade English and the ordinary English, both are the same on the basic sentence pattern and basic vocabulary. But the foreign trade English has its own terminology, the tone is more formal and the choice of word and building of sentence is more careful and cautious. Nowadays, the foreign trade English is not an ordinary language in the international business activities with a special purpose, but also an important tool in the foreign economic activities.
