摘 要
随着翻译理论的发展,著作的翻译研究愈发显出其重要性。《论读书》是一篇让译者在翻译中很难准确表达原作者意图说理性的散文。通过对王佐良和水天同译文修辞手法翻译和翻译方法应用的比较,让我们能更准确地理解原作者所想要表达的意思。
本文采用文献研究和比较研究的方法对《论读书》王佐良和水天同译本进行比较研究。本文由6个部分组成。第一部分介绍了背景、目的、意义。第二部分介绍了翻译学术的发展。第三部分介绍了翻译的基本方法。第四部分介绍了两位作者的基本信息。第五部分以第三部分和第四部分为基础,在文体的对等性、措辞、修辞以及两译文在使用翻译方法四个方面对《论读书》王佐良和水天同两个译本进行了对比分析。本文旨在探究散文翻译中具体问题的解决方法。

Abstract
With the development of translating studies, researches in translations of masterpieces become more and more important than ever. Of studies is a rational prose which is hard for translators to express the meaning of the original accurate. Through comparison research of Wang Zuoliang’s and Shui Tiantong’s translations mainly in rhetoric translating and translating methods, we can understand what the writer wants to tell us.
The paper mainly compares Wang Zuoliang’s and Shui Tiantong’s translations of of studies in literature research and comparative research methods. It consists of six parts, the first part introduce the background of the research, the aim and significance of the research. The second part tells the development of translating theory in China and oversea. The third part tells the basic translating method we meet in literary translation. The forth part presents the basic information of the two translators and their own translating style. On the basis of the third and forth parts, the author carry on comparative analysis of the two translations in match of the literary form, the wording, the rhetoric, translating methods. And the last part the author makes a conclusion of the research, and leave the problem most needed to solve. The paper aims to explore the resolve of problems in translating prose.

1 Introduction
In view of the importance of translation in literary appreciation, translating the classic and comparison between translations made by authoritative translators has been a subject of study for centuries, which has attracted much attention from scholars in China. According to Hu Xiaoyin (2012, p. 34): Literature has its unique characteristics of writing. Prose is a literature genre has the same status with poetry, drama and novel. It doesn’t pay attention to rhyme and parallelism. Translating prose is harder than any other literature genre. In the following part, some basic information about a piece of famous prose Of studies and its two Chinese translations will be introduced.
