Abstract:
Nowadays, with the development of economy and society, more and more Chinese new words come out in the areas of politics, economy, culture, education, and hospitalization. People need to translate the Chinese new words into English so that Chinese people can communicate with foreigners better and at the same time introduce China to the outside world. The purpose of this thesis is to give a brief introduction of Chinese new words and introduce the methods to translate different kinds of Chinese new words. In this way people can express themselves and be understood better.

现如今，由于经济和社会的高速发展，在政治，经济，文化，教育和医疗领域出现了许多中国新词。人们需要将这些新词正确的翻译出来，这样能与外国更好地交流，同时把中国介绍给世界各国。本篇论文的目的是简单地介绍一下中文新词，同时说明在遇到不同的新词时候应该采用的不同的翻译方法。

1. Introduction
With the development of Chinese society and economy, many new ideas and phenomenon are coming out. People need to create new words to express new ideas and concepts so as to communicate more conveniently. And translation of these new words poses a challenge for translators. Although people have gained a lot of fruit in the area of translation of Chinese new words into English, there are still many problems remaining to be dealt with. Because there are few examples to refer to and the readers are those whose mother language is not Chinese, it is a hard job for the translators to choose the right words.
Chinese new words are reflections of new things including new ideas, new phenomenon and new concepts. Since the reform and opening up policy at the end of 1970s, the connection between China and the outside world is getting closer and closer. But there are great differences between China and English-speaking countries in culture, values, thinking patterns and expressive habits. Some of the Chinese new words cannot find corresponding ideas in English and some even have no identical expressions in English. So, it is really a tough job for Chinese to introduce new things to foreigners with idiomatic English. Many scholars and translators have done much research in this field.
