Abstract and Key Words

Abstract: This study aims to investigate the translation principles of international business contracts. This paper focuses on the three translation principles, professional theories and the character of the words in the international business contracts. In the thesis, the writer will highlight the importance from the definition, rule and examples. Then the writer shows the profession theories of international business contracts through the basic documents, formats and the structure. At last, the thesis reflects the character of the words from the expression for special purpose. In conclusion, the paper concludes each aspect of the international business contracts.

摘要：本文对有关涉外合同翻译的书籍，文章等进行了研究分析，旨在通过定义、规则、实例明确涉外合同翻译时应该遵循的“忠实、准确、统一”的原则，从国际翻译合同的基本材料、格式以及结构熟悉涉外合同的专业知识，通过专用词语的试用简述了在翻译过程中词语的使用，阐述了文章的主旨. 从而解决以往国际商务合同翻译的无规律可循、如何准确理解和运用英文合同中常出现的句式和用词以及如何确保翻译的合同既有“法言法语”又不失英语的普遍规律的问题。

1. Introduction
The economic and trade ties between China and other countries are becoming more and more close，since China became a member of WTO. International business contracts play an important role in international business activities, because every country needs the contracts to standardize the behavior of each other and protects his legal rights and interest. On the other hand, business English has become an essential tool for communication. More and more English-learners and law-majors hope that they can know the rules of international business contracts, and then they can understand them correctly, translate them precisely and make them perfectly. They improve their desire to use English to solve the problems of business contracts since China entered the WTO. The type of international business contracts is various, and their contents are diversified and complicated. In international business, contracts usually need two versions: English and Chinese. Translation of international business contracts must follow the three principles, such as faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance; all these make the translation very difficult and the translator should be quite professional and skillful to ensure the high quality. This article first analyzes the translation principles including faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance of business contracts and then explores the skills of translation by citing examples. It also picks out some translation errors, the causes and the methods to correct the errors. Finally there are some advices about the problems in translation.
