Abstract:
Currently, a great international fervour has upsurged on the learning of Confucianism, especially on the Analects of Confucius which contains the most important thoughts of Confucius. In the whole 20 chapters of the Analects of Confucius, the word junzi was mentioned more than one hundred times which shows that junzi is one of the important thoughts in the Analects of Confucius. So the exact translation of junzi is crucial on the accurate interpretation of the Analects of Confucius. With so many different versions of the Analects of Confucius, the translations of junzi varied also. This paper will take the translations by Arthur Waley, Ezra Pound, Gu Hongming and Lin Yutang for examples, compare their translation accuracy, discuss the factors contributing to the differences and give some suggestions for the translation of junzi in the Analects of Confucius eventually.

I Introduction
Language is an indispensable part of culture and is closely associated with the development of culture. As a unit of language, words are the most important linguistic components. They can reflect culture and at the same time are influenced immensely by culture. Thus, from the study of culture-loaded words and expressions, we may have a glance of a nation's value, customs, religion, way of thinking and way of life.
As one of the most influential books about traditional Chinese culture in the world, the Analects of Confucius can be set as a perfect material for culture-loaded terms studies. In the light of the existence of so many translations of the Analects of Confucius, scholars began to focus their attention on the study of successful versions or influential translators. Some analyzed the translation purposes, some discussed the good points and weakness of different versions, but few further discussed different translation methods on junzi.
