Abstract:

In the late of 1970s, China faced a new fate and came to a crossroad in this nation’s development history after a ten-year upheaval. The second generation of China’s leaders led by Deng Xiaoping made the great decision--- the introduction of the reform and opening-up. After that, China’s economy obtained a sustainable and speedy development, and based on this economic power its national culture is beginning to influence the world widely and deeply. In this essay, the topic is centered under the economic base. The relationship between the economic power and the culture is discussed and then the conclusion is concluded that a strong economic entity is sure to develop a strong culture. Meanwhile, a discussion on the relationship between the culture and language is studied, further elaborating the relationship between the language and cultural words. Besides, using the culture as a bridge, a connection between China’s economic power and its cultural words’ translation into English is built. At last, this essay comes to its conclusion that being influenced by China’s strong economic power, Chinese cultural words’s translation will be dominated by the transliteration and literal translation.

摘  要：

20世纪70年代后半期的中国百废待兴。经历了前一个时期的动荡，中国迎来了国家民族命运的重要转折时刻。关键时期，以邓小平为首的中共第二代领导集体以前无古人后无来者之胆识，大力推行改革开放。随着改革开放的不断深入与发展，中国的经济也取得了举世瞩目的成绩。这种经济上的成就对中国文化的传播产生了深远的影响。本论文正是立足于当今中国的经济力，并以此为根基阐述经济与文化的基本关系，表明一国经济力强文化也势必强势的现象；同时，该论文阐述了文化与语言之间的关系，语言与文化词的关系；然后通过文化这座桥梁，建立起中国经济力与汉语文化词英译联系。最后，该论文指出在中国经济力强势的这一大背景下汉语文化词的翻译将以音译和直译为主流。
